Human Trafficking Legislation Signed

Human Trafficking Post ImageGovernor of Massachusetts Deval Patrick signed a new hooker protection or as they like to call it an “Anti-Human Trafficking Legislation.” Which is meant to lower down on targeting of prostitutes by police, and revert the focus to instead going after the pimps and the sorry saps that pay. Some say the the bill could actually back fire for considering the prostitute to be the victim. Maybe perhaps even an up rise in ladies of the night, due to being able to play the victim card.

What is staggering with the bill, is if you are in fact one of those lonely chumps that feel the need to purchase adult entertainment. You can be subject to at least 2 years in prison and up to a fine of $5,000 dollars. Which leaves me to believe is this another attack at the poor? I wonder if this bill would have been passed if it in fact would have been in New York and when Eliot Spitzer was governor? Its even more worse news for the pimps, with the new bill they can be subject up to $25,000 in fines and could face 5 years in prison.

The part of the Human Trafficking Bill that really matters

But with all this being said there is good parts of the bill that protect the children who are forced into this life. Which in my opinion should have been the only part of the bill. But this will protect children, by saying if you are charged with the trafficking of a child the results can be life in prison and/or subjected up to a million dollars in fines. If you are someone who agrees to pay for sexual acts with a minor you may be subject to 10 years in prison.
